Problem Extruding
When trying to extrude a polygon like the one in the car tutorial, I get the error message:
Extrude failed: There are no external surface edges. What am I doing wrong? Balooba |

Perhaps you're in not in surface mode. Or, you have an open edge along the extrude line, when it should be a closed one. Example: if you make a cylinder with an open outer edge, you won't be able to extract it further to make more segments. but if it's capped, you can. That's because you CAN extrude a surface, but you cannot extrude an edge.

Thanks for your help, but I clicked on menu-vertex-extrude edges, and it went fine.

Great! Ya learn something new every day!!
I suppose my advice only applies to the "Extrude" button, which I believe only works on surfaces.
