question about extruding and combining
hello everyone. I have a question about extruding surfaces and trying to combin them. I am working on a project that has mulitpul extruions and I want to combin them. but I was wondering how do I make them adjacent to each other to preform such a task. because I keep on getting an error when trying to combin to surfaces that have been extruded and are close to each other but yet are not adjacent. how can I fix this problem?

Re: question about extruding and combining
You could snap together the vertices of both surfaces where you want them to join and be adjacent. And then weld these vertices.
Eventually you would have to delete useless surfaces (if any) before performing that.

Re: question about extruding and combining
An example with this shape :
Delete the selected surfaces : Select these 2 vertices, snap them together (ctrl+T) and weld them (vertices/weld) : Do the same for the 2 other vertices : And you're done !

Re: question about extruding and combining
ahhh thank you. this is exactly what I was looking for. AHAHAHA thank you luuckyy. This opens up opportunitity for making better models.
Thanks alot luuckyy ==> Daniel <== |

Re: question about extruding and combining
ooh yes, I have a question about the creation of the new surfaces. when I try to go into subdivision mode the newly created surface is not where it should be. could you correct this problem with having to do commit subdivision.

But you should try to have a good looking model (with all the details) before using any subdivision level. That's how I proceed myself, but of course it's everybody's choice.
