Free Stand-Alone Renderers
I put together a list of free, stand-alone renderers for anyone who's looking for one to render their AC3D scenes:

Which would you recommend for a really, really dumb person who feels most pieces of software are a plague sent to curse them ...

Yes, there's a few on there that are new to me, too, that I discovered when I was researching the list. I haven't had a change to fully delve into it yet as learning a new renderer is always a project, but the test images from 3Delight in particular look *really* nice.

luuckyy thoughtfully mentioned PoseRay as an add-on to that list. PoseRay is a front-end for PovRay that makes setting up scenes a lot easier, and would be a very good place to start. Kerkythea is kind of interesting, too. It's a bit menu-heavy, but unlike a lot of the other ones it does have a full GUI. |

Re: Free Stand-Alone Renderers
BTW, I'm sorry but it seems that I haven't been able to proprely use the ":url" tag when typing my message in your blog ... so that the PoseRay link actually links somewhere in your blog. Maybe it needs to be fixed. Sorry for that

Re: Free Stand-Alone Renderers
Np! Fixed it. The instructions are confusing: It seems that the blog software treats anything after a colon as an url. Not sure what happens if someone trys to use a colon for normal typing!
