Better .STL Importer?
Hello all,
I've recently purchased (as in, about 5 minutes ago) the models for a 3D printer object that I want to modify. Thing is, it only came with .stl files and whenever I try to import them into AC3D, all I get is a single point. No mesh. Anyone know if there is a better .stl importer available for AC3D before I go hunting down some kind of stand-alone converter program? .stl is a fairly standard 3D printing file format, so I'm naturally somewhat concerned over how well I'll be able to export to it if the imports don't work.

Re: Better .STL Importer?
Binary STL will be supported very soon (the current release is ASCII STL).

Re: Better .STL Importer?
I have been having the same issue when exporting a binary or ascii STL file from my GeoMagic Design 2014 CAD app to AC3D. This is frustrating since I had no problem exporting these files to BLENDER. I hope that this issue gets resolved soon since now I am being forced to learn all the awkward ins and outs of BLENDER !!

Re: Better .STL Importer?
I've been using an open source viewer/importer/exporter called AssimpView to convert the STL binaries to OBJ, but its hard to tell if that program is screwing with vertices or if the actual mesh is that ugly. Would definitely like to see AC3D do it directly.

Re: Better .STL Importer?
The new version of AC3D imports the binary STL files like a charm, thanks Andy!
