Merging objects for subdivision
Ok, this is how you can merge two objects and subdivide them as one. Its probably other ways to do it but this is how I do it if needed. And this is very simplifyed objects, but the principles are the same.
1: Delete the surfaces marked red. 2: Place the object as close to each other as possible and merge them. (I have made a gap here for easy viewing) 3: In vertex mode select the two vertices and hit control + T. This make the two vertices go together. Do this with the rest of the vertices as well. 4: Now select the object, and in vertex mode go to : Vertex ->Weld. AC3D now removes the vertices you dont need. 5: Now just subdivide away. A nice smooth object.
