Newbie for sure - question?
Greetings!
I have just discovered AC3D and although still with the trial version, I'm impressed! Like all newbies, I have a basic question that the answer to will, no doubt, seem ridiculously simple once I know! If I have a flat disk shape (or any shape, come to that), how can I make it 'bulge'? I've worked out how to make it a shallow cone by lifting the centre vertex, but I'm looking for a more 'round' look, like a very shallow hemisphere? Please forgive me.... |

Re: Newbie for sure - question?
If you want to make a hemispherical shape out of a disk, you're going to have to extrude the surfaces several times and move and resize them each manually. I think the easiest thing to do would be to take a sphere and delete the parts you don't want.

Re: Newbie for sure - question?
one easy thing to do, for example i used this for making sand dunes, is just use a plane and switch to vertices mode, and higlight a few in the area you want to make a bulge in, than pull it up to the right hight. Once you've done that just subdivide it until it is smooth and it looks great.

Re: Newbie for sure - question?
That must come in handy for making scenes and such.

Re: Newbie for sure - question?
Yes it does. Quick and easy.
