3D text help
I want to make 3D text look like it is carved into an object. I would normally make the text and then use a boolean operation to subtract it from another object but boolean features never work well for me. I tried it and AC3D crashes everytime. Is there another way? If not, maybe that would be a good enhancement to the create 3D text tool. To make a surface with the words etched in.

Re: 3D text help
Sorry I haven't got the time for an explanation with pictures but you might want to try that :
- Create a rectangle in the front viewport - Create one letter somewhere inside that rectangle (always in the front viewport) (vertices of the letter and the rectangle should be aligned in the left viewport) - Select all the vertices (letter and rectangle)(can't remember if you have to merge rectangle and letter before that) - Go to the menu "Vertex / Create 2D mesh / XY Front" - Extrude inward your letter ... It's an example for one letter only, you might have to tweak it a bit, but it's the only thing I have in mind. Maybe someone else could help you. Good luck.
