sculpitng tools?
I am trying to reshape "head.ac" by selecting vertices and moving them ever so slightly.
I also subdivided so as to get more to work with. I get sharp edges almost right away - what I need is a way to move ALL vertices within a vicinity of a movable tool that will either push or pull (my choice) according to the distance from the tool, by a formula I could set so that those vertices really close move as if they had been selected, but the movement of those further away only move a fraction - this would allow a smoother surface after you make subtle adjustments to selected vertices. How do experienced users do this? Somthing like if you had a clay sphere and you used your thumb to press a portion inward smoothly? I got a lot to learn, I realize, but I would like to make use of this kind of "editing" right now. Thanks |

There is currently no 'magnet' style tool but you can use Vertex->smooth-shape to smooth out an area.
Also, if you are using subdivision surfaces (set subdivision level in Tools->object-properties), you will get something similar to what you want i.e. move a single vertex and the area around that will be smoothly distorted. Andy |
