Can I change the amount of light the "Light" gives out? Is there an option somewhere that you can edit the brightness of it?

Sorry, there are no options on the light but you can move it nearer/further-away to change the overall lighting.

I was also wondering if the light source could be altered. I found one solution. Create a cylinder and make a hole through it and drop a light source into it and group the two together. You can then move the canister around like a spotlight. You can create some interesting effects in the render.
