3D Gamestudio MDL7 exporter
I'd like to see someone tackle a MDL7 exporter one day.

3DGameStudio supports 3DS, which AC3D does - have you tried this?

Not yet but direct support is always a desirable thing. People sometimes have difficulty getting either skins or animations into 3DGS's model editor(MED) when using 3rd party apps. MED has a 3DS import option but it's basically a 50/50 chance of it working out with everything intact.
AC3D was being discussed on our forum and seemed to get some good suggestions from people who have used it. I'll have to review it to see if there are any "how-to" with the current version on getting usuable models out of it. Anyway, it's just a suggestion for the future and everything required to implement it is in the link in the initial post. If you ever were to consider it, it might be best to wait a few months until the "overhaul" of the MDL7 format is complete. |

I have found Ultimate Unwrap3D a good program to move .3ds files to md5 format and it even has a plugin for it. Solves a lot of issues for me and the program is not to expensive to register.
