Not sure if there's a way to get POV Ray to recognize a subdivided object, but this should work for you:
Before exporting to POVRay, perform an "Object -> Commit Subdivision". If you set the subdivision level in the Object Properties window, it only does a preview, keeping the original mesh intact - this command removes the original mesh in favor of the subdivided object. Once you commit the subdivisions, you lose the control mesh and cannot get it back, so you may only wish to do this when exporting to POV Ray (i.e., don't save over your original document unless you're sure you want to). Of course, there may be a way to get POVRay to perform the subdivision as well, but not being familiar with the renderer I couldn't speak to that. Keep in mind too that different modelers and renderers may provide slightly different results when subdividing surfaces, depending on the internal method they use. So for results guaranteed to be consistent with AC3D's subdivisions, your best bet is to stick with committing subdivisions prior to export. Good luck, Dennis |

Are you using AC3D 5? The povray exporter will output the subdivided object geometry. i.e. no need to commit subdivisions before rendering.

AC3D 5 is free for registered AC3D 4 users (unless something's changed), so just use your same license key there.
