Basically, any program can only be as reliable as the software or hardware the program itself relies upon.
AC3D said to your driver 'give me a surface I can draw on' and your driver said 'here you go' and then handed AC3D an invalid drawing space. I'd be at least as frustrated as you in this situation. If you know someone who can compile Mesa3D for your system, then I'm quite sure it would resolve your issue (without purchasing a new card). It's a software replacement for an OpenGL driver, so it's slower, but it's well implemented and free. If you put its file in with AC3D's exe then AC3D is the only thing that would be affected. I think I've said all I can, so I'll be quiet now. Again, good luck, -- Jeff |

Problems with new motherboard display
Update:
The tech rep believes the motherboard has a fault in the display system, and I will receive a new one to replace it. However he suggested that the problem may be that the new technology within the board may not be compatable with AC3D, this kind of stuff is beyond me. We shall see when the new (Replacement) board arrives. In the meanwhile I will order a video card (Open GL) just in case. Thanks all. |

Thats a good outcome.
I had one mobo with display probs if the center mounting screw was tightened. With the screw loose it worked normaly. Either case or mobo, or both, was slightly warped it seems. You'll learn something either way by swapping your new mobo.

I would be extremely surprised if the replacement motherboard fixes the problem (unless it's a different model). Let us know.
As for the 'new technology ... not compatible with AC3D' that sounds like he's trying to say it doesn't work because it's better. Bluntly, that's ridiculous. The end effect is the same, though: it's just a driver problem, and they aren't going to fix it. -- Jeff |
