Newbie Requires Texture Help
When I save a model with a texture in .ac format, the texture does not appear when I reopen the file.
I get a message which says"texture_read: I need a filename with a suffix" Also, the console says"can't assign texture" Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Roger A Brit in Texas

Hi Roger,
Look in the .ac file for a texture line (edit it with a text editor, notepad etc). If the texture filename doesn't have a suffix like .gif or .jpg then that's the problem. If you edit it, and ensure your texture file has the same (correct) suffix, you should be OK. I'd be interested to know how this happened, since AC3D should only load textures that have suffixes and these should be saved in the .ac files. Andy |

Hi Andy,
tried what you said but still no joy. I borrowed the pilot figure I'm working on from another model, deleted what I didn't want, then applied a texture, and materials to the model. It looks fine, except for the texture not loading back in. Thanks for your help, Roger
