Move Center Point to any location
  The ability to move the center point to any position either by selecting and dragging or entering coordinates would be great.
This would allow you to rotate an object around another object. Example: I have modelled a circular tank with an open top. On top of the tank is a walkway that extends out to the middle of the tank however. I would like to rotate the walkway about the top of the tank. It would be so much easier if I could move the center point or (about Point) of the walkway to the center of the tank, thus allowing me to position the walkway at any angle or direction. I hope this makes sense. |

Yes, it makes sense.
You can edit the object center from loc in Tools->object-property-editor. |

Andy,
When I select an object and go to >Tools, > Object Property and change the xyz Loc to 0 (zero), they go right back to the original numbers and the center point does not change. Maybe I am not doing something right. Mark M. |

Does this work for groups? I'm still having problems.
I have of group of about 50 objects. I individually selected each object and the center point coordinates to 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, then I selcected the group and changed property coordinates to 0.0. (My round tank is centered exactly at 0.0, 0.0, 0.0.) Now when I try to rotate the group to any pecified degrees, it does not stay centered with the tank, it wobbles off center quiet a bit. I select undo and go back to look at the group properties and the center coordinates are set back to where they were before I changed them. |

It works on groups. You need to press enter after setting each field to zero.
