Default AC3D 6 Draw Polygon Stays Selected And Vertex Problem

AC3D 6;
Default Settings;
Plugin Quickgrid in use;
Windows 2000, SP4;
Nvidia FX 5600 latest drivers;

Created Draw Polygon object, extruded object, selected and move to center point new object, Clicked in front view to clear selection of object, create draw polygon object was still selected even though button did not seem to be selected. created a polygon line object and began to undo all three steps that created object. After this saw new and abandoned vertex below new extrude object that I did not create (I don't think I clicked in this area). Tried to select it and delete but could not select vertex at all. So I cut and paste extruded object to new work area and save as over old file. vertex did not reappear.

This happened again when I imported the obove object to a new work area in order to create a more complexe object. I erased the polygon and Draw Polygon did not turn itself on?? a second time.

Once again. But this time I was creating something new. And I pretty sure I selected Box.

The first two times it seems to have switched itself on.

The Vertex problem hasn't shown up again.

Update 053106:
I haven't had either of these problems since. But I was inadvertantly using the the model folder in AC3D 5, which was not removed with the rest of files. I have now moved all working model files to AC3D 6 and deleted all remains of AC3D 5. May have cleared up that problem???
