Distorsion?

It would be soooo nice if someone could write and make available a plugin capable of distorting linearily a set of selected vertices... I've been perusing the manual long and attentively as it looked to me an obvious feature, but eventually had to conclude that it just isn't there

Of course I'm not demanding, I'm just pleading -- and would gladly express my thankfulness in some tangible way
