Custom Greeble Help Needed.
Im looking at the instructions for useing CUSTOM_GREEBLES but I need to say..HUH...I followed everything but can't get the custom greebles to work..Could somebody please do a step 1-2-3 tut for dummies?
If I made a greeble in a program and then saved it the same way, can that be used and how would the program find it? Thank You |

When you have made your custom greeble, hit F9, and in the object data txt window, write //CUSTOM_GREEBLE with capital letters. (as in the picture). It must be one single object. If you use another 3d program to make an object then just export it from that program as an 3ds or obj file. Then import to AC3D and do the same as above (F9 and so on). Still only one object. If you have several objects then just merge them. You can of course use several custom greebles, but each greeble must only be one object. Hope this helps.

Thanks for takeing the time to answer> I completly understand what you are saying BUT it still doesn't work...Here is what Im doing
1.I make a greeble 2.In object mode I select f9 and type in //CUSTOM_GREEBLE 3.I save the greeble with the same name as it was called in the f9 screen 4.I bring up an object 5.I select the greeble tool 6.I check all the right boxes 7.I greeble It makes greebles allright but the custom ones are not there..What am I missing? |

Maybe a stupid question, but I must ask. You do have the custom greeble open together with the model you are greebling arent you?

AH..........sheepish grin follows...NO...I saved it because at the greeble link it says "will find the custom greeble"...thats why I asked in my original question how will the progam know where to look...I guess it should say, for dummies like me, Keep custom greeble open...hehhe..Duh, what else can I say except good catch and thanks for your help..
