A Right Click Menu
One of the things I'm getting in the habit of using is a 'Right Click Menu'. Not sure how this started ... maybe using Firefox or my 2d graphics programs. Anyway it strikes me AC3D could benefit from this.
If I had to think of something I'm always using ... its the hierarchy tree. I could keep it open all the time ... but then I end up dragging it out of the way all the time. So, 1st item I would add would allow opening it from right click menu. Other items I would add: 1. Snap to grid/together (and I guess the new snap by distance) 2. Merge, optimize vertices/surfaces 3. Open TCE 4. Make hole 5. Settings 6. Cut/Copy/Paste Am sure others might have suggestions .. probably include the new subdivision stuff. Items could be grouped with separator bars. My current Firefox 'Right Click Menu ' has 18 items. And at the same time maybe reconsider the usefulness of some of the top buttons (do people scale with those buttons ?) and the positioning of Smooth/Flat 1/2 sides buttons griff |

Re: A Right Click Menu
I happen to use those scale buttons frequently when I'm not looking for an exact size. The flip buttons I could do without though.

Re: A Right Click Menu
You can edit tcl/toolbar.tcl and put a # at the start of a line if you want to remove a button.
You can add your own buttons in there too - e.g.: Code:
toolbar_add_button " TCE... " "menu_uveditor" "Start AC3D's Texture Coordinate Editor (UV Mapper)" Buttons can also be added via a script (rather than editing AC3D main code). |

Re: A Right Click Menu
I take it the 'toolbar.tcl' is new in V6?
Found similar, but different, code in ac3d.tcl ... still trying to figure out how to alter it. All my efforts so far lock me up ;-) Is there a list somewhere of all the functions that can be attached to buttons ? And am I interpreting the code you show correctly: "TCE..." is the button label "menu_uveditor" is the function call "Start AC3D's Texture ..... " is the info bubble ? griff |
