Dennis's Heightmap Creator
I downloaded Dennis's heightmap2ac3D standalone creator. My pc specs exceed what appear to be the requirements in terms of installed software ... but I can't get the program to even start. Gives me a "want to report this ....." and shuts down when I say no.
Anyone used it ? Or Dennis .... any thoughts? griff |

Re: Dennis's Heightmap Creator
Well I'm running Net 2 (possibly 3 ... I can't remember). Don't know whether that has an impact.
Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone ;-) *Gets out megaphone and shouts* Dennis!! griff |

Re: Dennis's Heightmap Creator
Hi all,
Unfortunately, this errors out for me as well, and I cannot even compile this to see what's going on because I haven't installed the DirectX framework on my machine since my recent re-install... Unfortunately, I won't be supporting this app, but if there's a way to read graphics data using an AC3D plugin, I may end up writing a heightmap importer as an AC3D plugin. Andy, do you know (off the top of your head) if reading pixel data from a texture is possible using a plugin? Dennis |

Re: Dennis's Heightmap Creator
Thanks for the response Dennis.
The reason I was hoping to use your little program is because it appears to have the option of exporting as *QUADS*. I can use Bryce to do it ... but only as triangles. I wanted to be able to export as quads then selectively divide certain areas using your divide loop plugin. Hope you do manage something TY again .. griff |
