Animation
Okay, I remember you saying a while back that the main reason AC3D doesn't do animation is because it would take almost a complete rewrite of the program to support it.
But what about a separate sister program, like Animation Shop to Paintshop Pro? Or I suppose more importantly, how many guaranteed presales would you need to consider making such a program worthwhile?

Re: Animation
This is my 1st modeling program I bought and also was a tad dissapointed with no animating.
I bought this modeler to use it for DarkBasicPro on windows but I also plan on making a c++ opengl/sdl game on linux/win. But I can get over it because its a nice modeler for the price and works on multi platforms. It's a dam fine modeler but I would also buy an animation plugin ,patch or whatever for it also. I guess Ill just use AC3D for all my non animated models but I'll be buying 3D Canvas Studio http://3dcanvas.thegamecreators.com/ probly. But for now I use Mistfit Model 3D http://www.misfitcode.com/misfitmodel3d/main.html and a little Blender http://www.blender.org/ I hate the interface though. Mabey you could rip some code out of those  Just kidding but animation would be really nice. |

Re: Animation
Use Blender. Take your time to adjust/understand the GUI, it's really worth it. There's about zero animation program that can do as much as Blender, especially not at that price. I use AC3D for modelling, though - much quicker.

Re: Animation
You can, to some extent, create animations with AC3D.
Here's a tutorial on how: http://www.perfnurt.se/animtut.asp |
