C Axis advice
The notes state:
Custom Axis rotation The rotate widget in AC3D’s control-panel has been upgraded so that it can handle custom axis ‘C’. Now you can select two vertices (e.g. a line or two vertices along the edge of a model), press “Set axis” and any future rotates with the + or – buttons will rotate the selection around the axis defined by the two vertices. Great for moving an aileron around a wing edge. However I'm not getting this at all. Does anyone have a better explaination ? Or have used this to move or test an aileron for example.

Re: C Axis advice
Hi,
I have used this to swing a hinged door in a wall, putting my axis through the line of the hinge pins. The object or group to be rotated must contain at least two vertices on the axis that you want to rotate around. Press the "c" first to establish that you are using a custom axis. In vertex mode, select two vertices on the axis, either by selecting them individually while holding down the shift key or by looking along the axis and selecting the vertices using a bounding box, then press the "set axis". The status bar at the bottom should say "got axis from vertices OK". Switch to object mode and select the object that these vertices belong to, type the required rotation angle, and press the + or - as appropriate. Re: C Axis advice
Thanks that explains it better. Works nicely.

Re: C Axis advice
Very lovely this option (c axis)! It's very usefull. If I remember, long time ago I have suggested rotation about vertex. Select a vertex of an object and then rotate it. Anyway this new option is very very good!
