difference between blender and ac3d re shadows
i had been told that using blender for x-plane has an advantage in that it can "bake in" subtle shadows for things on panels and parts of 3d cockpits. but i saw this ac3d project screenshot which seems to show very fine subtle shadows:
http://www.inivis.com/forum/attachme...6&d=1257609850 so am i right in understanding that the issue is that ac3d can make the shadows but cant add it to the texture image? is that the issue? ..and if so is there a plug-in for doing that or will ac3d ever have this? thanks |

There is an AC3D plugin to bake shadows to a texture. You can read more about it here:

Re: difference between blender and ac3d re shadows
The included function is producing Targa images that can't be opened by any application I tried (GraphicConverter, Photoshop, ImageWell, Preview).
I don't have this problem with the images of the "Windowtest" example from Lisa.

are you using a non-intel Mac? This would point to an endian problem if so.
