UV Map Question
I have been working with sculpted prim for some time and the uv map has to fill the box in TCE--nothing should be exposed.
I am now moving on to mesh which i like far better but I am curious and please indulge my ignorance---does an unwrapped mesh need to fill up every space in the tce box--I am thinking it does not but i thought it might be prudent to check with the experts here on the forum. Hope to hear from you soon. thanks! |

Re: UV Map Question
In the TCE popup box click "View" then "Tiled Texture".
This better shows what happens when some mesh is outside the box. The map just continues to overlap the texture. |

Re: UV Map Question
The short answer is, "No"
If you break a model up into component parts, any of them can be assigned no texture at all, and then they will carry the "material color" in AC3D. If you have a "part of a textured part" that shouldn't have or doesn't need a texture, for some reason, you should attempt to isolate those surfaces in the TCE, make them super small and move them to an area on the graphic that has a neutral or white color. Thus, it will seem like it has no texture to speak of.
