I forgot to say that the "new" "extrude along normals" have been a totally awesome addition to Ac3d. It have been more or less useless for me before, but now it speeds up the work-flow, and is a really helpful tool. I have used it very much on Betty. Thats excellent Andy

Re: Alien Resurection:Betty
Finally got some time to do some texturing. This is what I got so far. Its damn difficult to get the tiger stripes to look good. And everything else for that matter.

Thor - if you are doing the texturing in AC3D, please post some screen shots of the Texture editor. I would love to see how you do the texturing. Awesome stuff as usual.

Re: Alien Resurection:Betty
Sure I can, It was a struggle to get the textures look Ok on the thrusters without it looking to warped. Much because of the shape and the fact that you have the stripes as well. So I colored the sides and top and so in different colors, and that way I could split the uvs apart and push them around like a puzzle. The most important was the top and sides, so I had to get the angle on the thruster as straight as possible when setting the uvs as top and side. The more angled the object is when doing the uv mapping, the more difficult it is to get good uvs. It took some trial and error to connect the top and side uvs, but I managed to get it Ok in the end.

Re: Alien Resurection:Betty
Thanks Thor, it's really like Andy's texture a car tutorial, just a lot more pieces. I just get intimidated by texturing, that helps a lot, thanks again.
