Try the Ortho menu above each of the views (not the one in the main menu at the top).

Is there a way someone could assign these blueprints so correct, that the scale between the pictures is the same?
If so, anyway here is the pic i want to use and if you say you can do it ill give you my email so you can sent me the files! (I also have msn: jhor@hotmail.de) |

I can't actually see this picture, but I think I can answer your question:
If you need to create blueprint background drawings, you need to create the images in a graphics program (such as photoshop, paintshop pro, etc.) where you can trim the views exactly to the very extents of noses, wingtips and tail/rudder edges, and set the graphics pixel width x heights to the exact corresponding size (while CONSTRAINING dimensions!!!). Then they will work as you want in AC3D. By the way, it's usually only necessary to know 2 dimensions of the object. By constraining and knowing any 1 dimension, you will maintain proper proportion with a 2D drawing. z.b. I often work with aircraft, where I know very specific data on length and wingspan, but height is a little "questionable" because I don't know if it's height with gear deployed or gear up. No problem. When I size the graphic for the Left view, I know for SURE the length of the aircraft. So I make sure the picture is cropped perfectly from nose to tail, use the same pixel length for the graphics in Left, Top and Side views, and the proportions work out.

Stiglr is correct --- and, looking at the image you've posted, it looks like the object is already proportionally sized in each view - you'll just want to chop it up into separate images in a 2d graphics prog (pshop, psp, gimp, or what have you).
When you chop up the image into smaller images, just make sure the objects are in-line in each pic (i.e., if the bottom of your treads are 20 pixels from the bottom of the image in your Left view, make sure they're also 20 pixels from the bottom in your Front view, etc). |
