I'd recommend moving the scaled down vertices over to the left first to get the arms to have equal lengths and angles. Other than that, it's a good system

You're right Captain, all the edges lengths are not equal with this second method, I didn't pay attention to that.
Ho well, let's say that this is for making stars with growth troubles
