Just right-click on an existing color close to what you are looking for (in the materials bar lower left corner ) and select Append new material. This will add the material to the right end of the material bar. Go to the new material and right-click again and select "Edit Material and all the options are there. Andy- as long as you are not busy  (kidding) it takes a lot of trial and error to get new materials to look the way i thought they would. I know most people texture and apply materials in a second program, but the more I can do in AC3D the more productive I am. Any improvement to the interface and / or preview would be appreciated.

Thanks again for a great program, looking forward to the next release.
