Default Re: to rotate an object

It's not exceptionally intuitive, but there is a way.

1. Select the vertex about which you want to rotate. In the "Move to" box on the left, click the ">" to get the vertex position.

2. In Object mode, open the Object Properties for the object you wish to rotate. Set the "Loc" x/y/z fields to the vertex coordinates you got in the last step.

3. Under File -> Settings, enable the "Rotate about object centre?" checkbox.

Would be very nice if a future release had a feature by which you could set an optional rotation point to save this type of work. Plus, this doesn't really solve the issue of how to rotate parts of an object or multiple objects in different groups, but it should work for what you need.
