Default Merging objects for subdivision

Ok, this is how you can merge two objects and subdivide them as one. Its probably other ways to do it but this is how I do it if needed. And this is very simplifyed objects, but the principles are the same.

1: Delete the surfaces marked red.

2: Place the object as close to each other as possible and merge them. (I have made a gap here for easy viewing)

3: In vertex mode select the two vertices and hit control + T. This make the two vertices go together. Do this with the rest of the vertices as well.

4: Now select the object, and in vertex mode go to : Vertex ->Weld. AC3D now removes the vertices you dont need.

5: Now just subdivide away. A nice smooth object.

But just as easy if not way easyer is this.

1: Extrude surface.

2: Subdivide. Way faster. Just remember to have the "Remove original" ticked.

thats pretty good there thor. does the same process work as when you create new surfaces thats seperate from the orginal object.

because sometimes I have had to create some surfaces on my model. When I go and subdivide it you can easily tell where I added new surfaces. Is there a way that I can make it match the orginal model.
