Re: Latest AC3D X-Plane plugin
Hi Andy, we were just wondering if you foresee a newer X-Plane plugin compliant with the forthcoming particle system.

Re: Latest AC3D X-Plane plugin
I’ve not seen the full specs yet but adding support in the plugin for particle emitters sounds like it would be relatively easy to add.

Re: Latest AC3D X-Plane plugin
I installed the 3.3b3 plugin in AC3D 8.3 along with commands & datarefs.tcl, but the X-Plane drop down menu does not appear in AC3D.

Re: Latest AC3D X-Plane plugin
OK...Did that, then opened & saved an 8.0 .ac file, then quit AC3D. When I reopened the file by clicking on it, AC3D loaded, but the X-Plane menu went missing again. Will I always have to load AC3D before opening .ac files from now on? The same thing happens with new files generated in 8.3. AC3D 8.0 has been deleted.
Still confused |

Re: Latest AC3D X-Plane plugin
Are you using the latest beta? There was a problem with the licensing when one would overwrite another. It would mean that one would start up unlicensed, which may explain the missing plugins. 8.3.11 is what you need - check Help->About. You may need to enter your key again.

Re: Latest AC3D X-Plane plugin
I tried to open some X-Plane V11 OBJ files using this X-Plane plugin, and received zero triangles imported. I believe that I followed the instructions exactly. Should we expect this X-Plane plugin to work with X-Plane V11 OBJ files?
Thanks, Ranny |

Re: Latest AC3D X-Plane plugin
It’s a collision with the wavefront obj plugin (which also handles .obj files).
move plugins/obj_import.p out of the plugins (or rename it to a different fiel extension e.g. obj_import.p.old) and restart AC3D. Fix coming soon. |

Re: Latest AC3D X-Plane plugin
Thank you - that worked. I am new to AC3D and will try to learn how to manipulate the model.

Re: Latest AC3D X-Plane plugin
The X-Plane plugins have been updated.
The current version is now 3.4b3. Please see the first message of this thread for the download links. http://www.inivis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7032 Previous versions of the plugin could cause hangs and slowdowns when updating some objects. This one has been tested by a few people and it solved the problem for them. It was also reported that this version feels a bit faster - I'd be interested to know if others notice this. |
