UV Unwrap?
I am trying to texture map my plane, it has been many years... Mmm 4 years to be exact when i used 3dsmax to do this and i remember using uv unwrap to do it.
I want to unwrap the wings for instance so i can texture map both bottom and top surfaces. how can i do this as i can only work out how to get top or bottom but not both! Any help much appreciated Last edited by Grale; 14th February 2011 at 08:31 AM. |

Re: UV Unwrap?
There are a couple of ways to do this.
1. split the wing object into upper and lower objects and map each seperately. 2. Select only the upper or lower surfaces and map accordingly

Re: UV Unwrap?
As Mossie's #2 answer suggests, that's the answer.
You can do this "in real time" by opening the TCE window, then returning to the model in the viewports and selecting or deselecting any areas you want. Then, return to the TCE and move only the selected items to someplace else in the TCE. It would help, of course, if you already had a graphic to move the various pieces to. And, it just so happens that someone needed to get access to a tutorial I wrote on the TCE that's aircraft specific. And it's still downloadable online: Episode 10: TCE enjoy.
