Default Is AC3D the right app for a Doctor to use?

Greetings AC3Ders,

I am posting a question care of the Director of Cerbrovasc Lab here at the UW. This client would like to find out if there is a LO-FI (plug and chug) solution to create simple 3D models without knowing a high end app like Maya or 3D Studio Max. He intends to use this program for teaching purposes showing cerebrovascular anatomy and aneurysms. Is AC3D the right choice? If so, would you give your thoughts as to why?

He would draw a line that would represent a vessel and then extrude it to make it appear smooth and 3D with highlight and core shadow as well as give the option of a general color. I guess the simple shapes is what he'd like to be able to work with (e.g. lines, circles, polygons, etc.) I'm sure that if it has animation capabilities, that would be great, but it's not something he brought up. It would also need to be exported readily into PowerPoint as a still or even as a movie if possible.

Thank you for your input!

Cheers,
Dave

Absolutely!

See this: http://www.birn.suite.dk/

AC3D is used all over the world for visualisation purposes like you mention see www.ac3d.org/pages/where for some more samples.

We are confident that there is no easier to use 3D software than AC3D.

Try the demo and ask here if you need any help.

Many thanks, Andy. I'll push the word over to my client and see what he can whip up.
Cheers!
