SpaceMouse and Linux

Does anyone here have experience with using a 3D mouse (for example with spacemoused) on linux and AC3D?
I am using it on windows successfully. I know the interface situation is different, but does anyone have a hint for me on how to get this to work? Or tell me that it will never work and I can stop worrying about it?

Sorry, SpaceMouse support is only implemented on Windows.
