Default A really Dumb question...

Hi, I just registered AC3D and now I have a really dumb newbie question.

I have made an object using polyline and revolve (see pic)

http://www.citlink.net/~ckearley/NewbieQuestion.jpg

and now I am trying to figure out how to close the open end(s) by adding a surface (quad) or surfaces (tri) to the vertices there. Can someone please point me in the right direction? I just scanned the PDF manual and I didn't see anything that looked like something I was used to.

Do I have to make poly and then weld it to the object? Is that the way to add these types of endcap surfaces in AC3D?

Thanks

First thing you should do is hit 'N' to see which direction your normals are and that they are pointing out, extending out going away from mod, then you just have to flip the normals by selecting them and then look under the surface menu I believe for the flip normal command.

IF normals isn't the problem simply select all the edge vertices and under the vertex menu select create ordered surface.

Also reading thru the manual helps a lot I missed a lot of stuff skimming thru it, and every time andy in a act of disciple shakes a finger at me and directs me back to it.

EDIT: Sorry about the typo's 3 things that affect this my wireless keyboard acts up sometimes, Most times I am sleepy and I am a horrible typer who looks at his hands and not the screen ops:

It could be a normals problem and pressing 'n' to view normals (or settings all surfaces to be two sided) may reveal this - but it's more likely that you revolved a line rather than a poly.

If you want a solid shape from a revolution that's less that 360 degs, you should revolve a poly rather than a polyline.

if it's too late to go back, select the verticies along the edge and use ;Vertex->create ordered surface; to create a surface over the end.
