Default Problems with DDS-Textures

Hi,

About the DDS-Plugin it's written: Only DXT1, DXT3 and DXT5 compressed formats are supported by this plugin.

But most DXT1 files don't display in AC3D, only a few. If I create my own DDS-DXT1-texures, none of them are shown, only if I save the as 24 Bit-DDS.

Can anybody help?

Kind regards,

Willi

Hi,

That's really a great forum. For none of my two questions I got an answer in a month.

coldby, forget it! A great way to welcome new members!

If I want to download plugins from the main page, I'm guided to this forum and have to search them together instead of there would be a download page for all plugins. Btw, without the plugins AC3D would be quite useless. So that's really a great customer service!

And I thought this is a support forum. I see, I was wrong! Unfortunately I have made a lot of promotion for AC3D on my forum. I wouldn't have done that, if I would have known, what jerks there are here!!!

Willi

P.S. No problem, there are other programs with friendly support. Not like here! I have never experienced something like that in my life, you a......!

Hi Willi,

Sorry you feel the way you do. Most of the time the forum is very helpful.

Unfortunately, I think you may have asked a question that most users here don't have much experience with. The DDS format is not the usual format for most of the rendering software used with AC3D.

So please forgive the users of AC3D if they are not forthcoming with the info you want. It just may be we don't have much of a clue about that format.

I did a quick search on the DDS plugin and didn't find much. So I am thinking that it may be a fairly old plugin that worked with a much earlier revision of AC3D.

You will find that older plugins won't work properly with the most recent revision. It may be that one of the plugin programmers may have been looking at the plugin and revising it to work with the current revision. It does take time to recode a plugin.

Sometimes you just have to be patient and give folks some time to research the issue.

I wish I could be more helpful, but the program I work with creates the DDS images automatically in the engine itself.

I have alot to say about the above quote. But I will make it breif.

Willi I dont see how you can get mad over a question like how many anwsers have you provided so far.

Secondly not everyone here is a jerk thats a generalization there. There are plenty of people here who are willing to help you but you have to have the right attitude.

In anycase I would have to disagree with you maybe you where having a bad day.But this is a support forum. I have had plenty of help since I first joined here.

If you want support you just need to ask the right questions. learn to accept C&C.
comments and critquicts (not sure but think that is spelled right). There will be alot of people who will try to critique your work.
