Just started this afternoon

![]() You preserve edges sharpness by enclosing them with other (new) edges. That also goes for materials boundaries ...

One thing you can do is "Commit subdivision", which converts the subdivision in real polygons. After that you can sharpen the edges as you like it.

Great images!
One way to make a sharp corner with subdivisions is to add extra vertices (Vertex->Insert-Vertex) and reposition them. |
