Default Can you combine without union?

I have a dellema. You see, when I try and do a union, my ac3d crashes without even telling me what smashed. Now it just might be me doing the union wrong as I'm used to using Lightwave's layers.

The question is, if I put two boxes side-by side, and then do a snap to grid so that each box are sharing 4 verticies, how do I get them to "join" as a rectagular box without using the union thing.

The "shrink wrap" thingy won't work either as I would like to do this with convex objects as well with faces that are "seat" next to each other.

Sorry, I'm a knob. I do a "snap to distance", "object merge" and "optimize verticies" to remove the extra junk.

Funny thing when you read the instruction manual....

I don't get the crash here - can you tell me which version of the boolean plugin you are using (help|about plugins - there is a version number next to "CSG plugin").

If you can send a model right before the operation, then I can try to make sure the problem is fixed in the next plugin release.

Thanks,
