Default Bevel Selected Edges

Is it possible to bevel only selected edges instead of an whole object edges?

Lets say your making a table and you just want the top edge beveled and not the bottom edge, how can this be done?

Thank you!!

Default Re: Bevel Selected Edges

AC3D does not yet support Edge selection or direct Edge manipulation. You can bevel at the Surface or Object level only.

For your example, if your tabletop is all one surface, you can bevel just that surface.

If it isn't, you could either combine (Surface->Combine) the tabletop into one surface then bevel that, or you could do an extrude and resize the extruded geometry (extrude retains connected surfaces, unlike Bevel, which adds a bevel to each edge of a surface). It really depends on the configuration of the tabletop --- if it's rectangular/oval/etc and symmetric, extrude/resize would work well, but for irregular shapes or shapes with convex curves (like a figure 8), combine/bevel is usually the way to go, since the extrude/resize wouldn't inset everything correctly.

Hope that makes sense.
