Default animated textures

Hi again,

I thing that animated textures would be important on ac3d. A the game "Turok 2" (n64 but i run it at my computer) the fires are 2d animated textures that always center the player's view. This is use ful because it doesn't take anything from CPU.

even if ac3d did support animated textures, it wouldnt help you use animated textures in your game.

or did i miss understand you?

were all waiting for animation in ac3d.

ac3d (and 3d studio) Can Not make games, you Cant write any sort or game with ac3d.
BUT, you Can make exalent 3d Models with ac3d, that are used in games.

i think you should do a little reserch on how computer games work.
good luck

I am not interesting such in making a game, but the character / object motions. Can you help me with the "reserch" you suggested me? I have work ANIMATION on 3d studio. I still belive that the MOTIONS in a game are diferent than animations you make in 3d studio. Is that true? I know that ac3d is for modeling.

im not exactly sure what you mean by motions in games
and by animations i asume you mean charactor actions(walking, jumping, punching, that sort of think). am i wrong?

sorry for confusing your question.

and that type of fire which turok and a lot of otehr games has..
its an animated 2D image. so no matter where u stand when u look at it it always looks the same. just that it gets smaller when u walk further away from it and vice versa.

Exactly ! (setting image into a surface called "texturing" and that image "texture" ) But it's very clever. And it doesn't takes anythithing from CPU
