Default Cannot see Object Editor

I am a BRAND NEW NEWBIE. I need a little guidance.

I select an object. Click tools>Object property editor. I get a box that says "Editing Object Properties" with a close button at the bottom of the box.

There is never a properties box that appears??

Could someone take a minute on this Christmas day to help a Newbie out a little??

Sure - make sure your Select mode is Group or Object (not Surface or Vertex), and make sure you only have one group or object selected (if you select multiple objects, you get the "empty" properties box).

HTH

Thanks for your answer and time Dennis, but all that is OK. It still gives me the message, "Editing Object Properties". There is nothing else in the box except a close button.

Any other ideas??

What I am trying to do is put up a cube and radius the edges. I thought maybe I could accomplish this with the object properties. Is there a better way?

Can you resize the Properties box by dragging the edges of the window? Seems I've heard of this being a problem in some cases.

As to the "radius the edges" thing --- I'm not sure what that means?

I don't ever get a properties box. All I get is the message related previous in a box in the center of the screen.

On the radius thing, I want the cube to have rounded edges instead of being square cut.

That's the box I mean . See if you can resize that box by dragging out the edges. The "Editing object properties" is actually the title in the properties editor - there are a editing controls between that and the Close button, it just sounds like they're hidden because the window is too small, for whatever reason.

For rounded edges on a box, it sounds like you might be looking for subdivisions (which can be found both on the Object property Editor and under the Object menu). You'll get best results from subdiving a cube if you start with a "Block" object rather than a "Box" - experiment with it a bit and you'll see what I mean.

Good luck

So right you are!! I'm not sure this is what I need, but at least I know how to get there now.

Thank you so much Dennis.
