Patty Wagstaff's Extra 300S for ClearView RC
Modeling for remote control flight simulators, like ClearView RC, requires low surface counts and lo-res image maps. This model has 1308 surfaces.
With permission from Patty Wagstaff, I started with a top, bottom and side image from her website to create the 1024x1024 .jpg image map. Since control surfaces are movable in ClearView, they need to be modeled as distinct objects. Prop, PropDisk, Spinner, left/right ailerons, rudder and elevator are all movable objects. The wireframe is simple but using smooth surfaces rounds out the model and lets us get away with low polygon counts. Images are wireframe, AC3D oblique and ClearView rendered. Hope you like it! -- ggunners P.S. and just in case you have ClearView, here's a link to the model. Last edited by ggunners; 17th October 2007 at 04:28 PM. |

Those are some pretty good results from a fairly simple model. Nice work!
