Question Questions (me= newbie)

I dont have the programe but I want to know some stuff first like

1. I know this ones easy but do you have to pay for updates/upgrades for ac3d

2. how do you make things move like if you make a character how do you make it so that if you made a game the person would walk, run, or just sprint? or like the trees move to the wind?

1) Questions like these are better posted in the General section; they have nothing to do with development.

2) You do not have to pay for many upgrades, but when there are major version releases, that will necessitate an upgrade fee. I've had AC3D for about 3 years, and had at least 5 upgrades I didn't pay for. One major upgrade, where the user interface was dramatically changed, had to be paid for.

However, for the price it's still one of the biggest bargains in 3D.

3) AC3D does not support animations at all.

Nothing free. I know Maya and 3DMax do animations great, but they're VERY pricey.

I have to do my animations by hand in the flight sim I do projects for.

well Stiglr you are correct you can do animation in maya. in fact thats a really great program for that. but you can get maya cheap for about $400 if you use the academic superstore catalog.

Question Re: Questions (me= newbie)

thanks thoughs look like they could work.

do you know anyone that may use " Maya 8 complete " because I know it does not work with liquides but how is it with things that in a game show no real signs of being conected with water such as rain (just a swift line from the dome sky to the ground) or such as snow how would that program work with stuff like that?

or has no one here ever used it?

oh and about the acadaemice super store cataloge thing is not as easy as it looks to keep it you must also sign up like 5 other people and have a signature from your school princaple saying they will have full control over everything you do with that program and last to keep it you must enter all the contests with that program that they email you so in the end they still win when it comes to money...
