well then couldn't you make like a plugin that can make certain surfaces objects. instead of all surfaces objects. you would think it would take alot less time to and strain on selecting each surface of the object.

Surface -> Cut Away Object does exactly this.

The only caveat here is the surface doesn't get its vertices normals calculated using adjacent surfaces any more. On flat objects like in Thor's example, this is not an issue. However, on curved areas, like the one in the attached image (guess which surface has been cut away ), it has a negative impact.

I'd love to see per-surface texturing in AC3D, but until then, we'll just have to use workarounds...

its kinda obvious where the negative impact is at. but it seems that I have found a question to my awnser. It seems that when you apply a texture to an object. All you have to do is open up the T.C.E. then you can select any one surface within the object that has the texture and you can place any random surface with the correct texture. it seems that this process saves time. I believe I have solved my problem. thanks alot guys for your help.
