Default Line /grid objects - compatibility with other file formats?

Hello all,
does anyone know which exportable file formats can accept the AC3D line and grid objects? --Have tried .x and .3ds but they won't show them. In .x lines are at least showing up as comments .

Really love the AC3D line objects. --Imagine what data explosion you would have if modelling all the rigging of a "Cutty Shark" sailor with double sided poly's. Besides, lines look much better in distance, much less jaggies.

Yes, know your answer: Use .ac as native format for an app. -Alas, I need to make my models compatible with many systems....
Thanks in advance.

PS. The ship.ac in the V5 samples has the lines /grid objects if you wan't to check that issue.
