Default Ac3d 6.8 out now!

AC3D 6.8

Free Aston Martin model

The stunning AC3D-branded Aston Martin model shown above is included with this release. It’s made by Sergio of X-Plane fame and is a great example of a low-polygon model with great texturing. You’ll find this model, along with other samples, in the ‘Models’ folder inside the main AC3D installation folder. Alternatively, access it from Object-Library (File menu).

Texture Coordinate Editor

Ever wanted to find the original surface/s from a texture mapping? Now you can simply select the texture parts in the TCE, then Edit->Select-TCE-Surface-in-AC3D and the surfaces that have the selected mapping are now isolated in the main AC3D selection.

Divide Loop

Supercoldmilk’s excellent plugin is now included with all versions. This slices a strip of 2 or more surfaces along its length. It also works well with clusters of surfaces. Very useful for adding extra detail to an object. (find it on the Tools menu)

For other changes, see the post install message.

Could you kindly explain the upgrade process - specifically what happens after payment has been made, whether a new license key is sent by email and when.

Cheers.

Yes, an email will arrive soon after automatically, usually within 15 minutes. If you think it may have been delayed, lost or spammed, let us know (contact us http://www.inivis.com/contact.html)

Mac only:

The main AC3D Mac download has now been updated to ac3d6814a.dmg (i.e. 'a' added). This now contains the divideloop plugin .

If you already installed AC3DMac 6.8.14 and need just the divideloop plugin, you can download it here: www.inivis.com/external/divloopmac.tgz. You need to unarchive it and move the divideloop.p file into the plugins folder. You'll then see the entry in the Tools menu after AC3D has started.

I'm a very casual AC3D user, and purchased my license in Oct. '08. I had no idea that this upgrade would require a new license when I installed it, now I only have a few days left on this "trial" version. Although I do plan to do the upgrade when I can budget the extra few bucks, is there somewhere I can get the previous version to use in the meantime?
