Cannot open a BMP file as a background image
Hi:
All of a sudden, while working in placement of objects over a background BMP image created as a reference for placing such objects, I could not see the image anymore. The objects remain on the list (F8) and could be exported, but I was not able to place any new object, as the BMP is not visible anymore. I even uninstalled AC3D and re-installed, but the issue persists. I can load the BMP as an object texture, but the image remains in white and the image itself is not visible. Any ideas on what could be happening?. Thanks, Ed |

Not sure what this could be. Try loading a jpg or png as a background image and see i that shows up OK.

Re: Cannot open a BMP file as a background image
I finally solved the issue splitting the BMP, which was over 73 MB in size, in two parts. Seems to me that AC3D is not handling well the big files, as any file above 40-50 MB causes crashes, or sometimes it could not export objects (IPACS tgi format). Is there any plans to upgrade AC3D to a 64 bit app?.

Re: Cannot open a BMP file as a background image
The BMP loader may be at fault - will investigate.
64 bit is planned. The next Windows release will be able to use twice as much memory when run on a 64bit Windows platform. Eventually all versions will be 64 bit but I can give no date at the moment. |
