Default I just learnt to make blueprints..

Been using this for over two years and was always puzzled that there is no import JPG background capability.

A light suddenly went on!

Make a flat surface, texture it with a scale drawing. To scale it correctly make some proper length axis lines.

Here I show just one side elevation but it's just a duplicate to do plan and elevation. I also made surface type 2S so I can switch left to right and can obviously also hide the plans as I work.

Yes, lights are bringing fun to constructing ;-))

the coloured surfaces are necessary, because of relative (not absolute) dimensions:

There is a background image function on the orth window menus, but this is more versatile.

A quick tip for this - Untick File->Settings->General->Show-locked-objects-as-wireframe. Then from the Visibility panal (bottom left of UI) lock the textured blueprints. They will be visible but not selectable, and won't get in the way of your editing.

Great idea! I have a bunch of low-poly cars to do and this will help a lot.
