Have you installed Povray from www.povray.org?

Install that and then press on the browse button to set the render program on the AC3D Render dialog.

POV-Ray is an entirely separate program from AC3D. AC3D is a modeler, and POV-Ray is a renderer --- any models you build in AC3D can be rendered with POV-Ray.

Hope that helps,

Dennis

Check out this link, a beginner's guide for POV-Ray and AC3D:

http://www.ac3d.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=174

Although POV-Ray's latest stable release is 3.6, the "guide" covers POV-Ray 3.5; if you're an absolute beginner, I'd definitely recommend getting 3.5 for now, and upgrading later when you get more comfortable with POV-Ray. You can get 3.5 from here:

ftp://ftp.povray.org/pub/povray/Old-...l-3.5/Windows/

The file you want from there is povwin35.exe.

Here's an additional link from the same author (Woody) that goes a step further:

http://www.ac3d.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=186

For modeling, the tutorials link from AC3D is a good place to start:

http://www.ac3d.org/ac3d/tutorials/

And I host a couple on my website:

http://supercoldmilk.com/ac3dtut/index.html

Good luck,

Dennis

okay thanks ooh and I have one more question how can you add texture into AC3D withouth putting an object there cause I was reading one of the tutorials on how to make treads on tires and I got confused by what they ment.

"
Begin a new scene within AC3D and load your front and side Orth views with the "tire_blueprint.jpg" image. For your pan view, load the "tread_pattern.jpg" image."

any ideas cause I'm confused lol.

Check out the "Ortho" menu above each of the 2d ortho views (not the main Ortho menu, the menu). You're looking for a "set background image" function,
