Default Surface Effect on Wing

I wonder if anyone can help me out. Attached is part of the wing from a Wellington bomber - if you load this up in AC3d in use 3d and Inspect you will see a sort of shading effect on the topside of the wing - the effect follows the line between a series of objects along the wing. I've tried quite a few methods to remove this effect but I'll afraid I'm at a loss.
Any ideas?

There are some bad surfaces in there - use Object->Optimize-surfaces to remove them.

You may want to merge all the obejcts together (select all then Object-merge) first, then Optimize-vertices, then optimize Sufaces.
