Smile Using different material on on plane sorted!

I had a problem with a large house with repeats( times 8 ) of bricks and a lot of windows. I couldnt use a graphic with the windows and the brick material on the same sheet because the repeats "dragged in" the windows as well.
So....
As an experiment I drew a block with 3,3,1 divisions.
Select the center of the block and make a face.
Extrude into block a short way.
Use Surface >make a hole in the newly formed extruded back face.
Widen with the vertex to the width of the hole, it's now the size of the blocks lines and the recess is rectangular.
Create a rectangle the same size as the back of the recess and position at the back of the recess.
Use snap by distance on each corner to "pin" the rectange to the back of the recess.
You can now load and texture each mesh seperately.
You will of course need to do a lot of 3D work and polyline, but it does open up lots of possibilities for architectural detail.
